Hometown: Lake Forest Park, WA
Background/Beer background: Grew up just north of Seattle in Lake Forest Park. Business degree from University of Washington. Licensed CPA for five years, and then I saw the light! It was beer. Started The Beer Junction in our original 1200 sq. ft. location in 2010. Moved to our larger 2500 sq. ft. space in March 2012. I love getting up each day and thinking of new ways to improve and grow our business and get people excited about all the great beers we are so lucky to have brewed (and have access to) in the Northwest.
I think my first beer ever was a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale at a casino in Las Vegas. Guinness then lead the way for awhile until I started discovering the multitude of great beers out there. Began with stouts, then grew to explore everything else. But stouts are still my first love.
Favorite Beer Styles: Bourbon aged stouts and then citrus forward IPAs.
Favorite Movie: Hoosiers (best sports line ever: Jimmy Chitwood: “I’ll make it”).
Favorite TV Show: Seinfeld.
Favorite Sandwich: Pastrami and corned beef with coleslaw on rye.
Favorite Non-Beer Hobby: Following all things tennis.
